As an independent wholesale MGA based in Texas, we underwrite and place an array of business lines, including property, casualty, professional, transportation, energy, environmental, and personal lines. All our accounting, processing, and underwriting are performed locally in Conroe, TX, ensuring your accounts receive timely and professional service. Our dedicated underwriters and staff collaborate closely with our contracted agents, all of whom share our commitment to integrity, drive, innovation and dedication.

Our History

Lyle Ashley and Billie Gorrell co-founded Ashley General Agency in 2010, following over 35 years in the Surplus Lines Wholesale Industry, where Lyle served as President and Founder of Surplus Inc. The first policy for AGA was written on June 14, 2010, with a team of five employees and five contract carriers. After Lyle’s passing in January 2014, his daughter, Billie Gorrell, is now President | CEO.

Today, Lyle’s legacy has grown to encompass over 25 employees and achievements that would make him very proud. Lyle was committed to conducting business with the highest moral and ethical standards, always prioritizing clients’ needs. Our team dedicates their efforts daily to honor Lyle’s legacy and vision with the utmost respect. We are committed to professionalism, technical expertise, and fostering valuable relationships with our carriers and agents.
